About WCC

Windy City Crokinole strives to bring Crokinole to the masses

Whether it be through our meetup every other week, our monthly library presence, or through the tournaments we run throughout the year in the Chicago Area, we are always encouraging others to try out the wonderful game of Crokinole.

Our Founders

Adam Ziobrowski

Adam has had a Crokinole board since 2013 when he picked up an imperfect Mayday Games Starry Night board and has been in love ever since. It was the board that spawned many a Crokinole purchase in the Chicagoland area. He placed 1st in the 2023 Origins Double Tournament(with Co-Founder Michael), 2nd at the 2023 Gaming Hoopla Tournament, and 3rd place on two separate occasions at the GenCon Crokinole Tournament. He works in the IT field currently working in System Administration.

Dan Vieu

Dan has been a card and board gamer his whole life. On a whim, he researched and bought a Crokinole board without ever playing the game. He quickly fell in love and hasn’t looked back. He started a Crokinole Club because his wife promised to never play a round with him. During the day, he interprets for students that are deaf and hard of hearing.

Michael Barth

Michael joined us early in the creation of the Crokinole club and is vital in our efforts in Chicago’s West Suburbs hosting events at Bubblehouse Brewing in Lisle. Like both Adam and Dan, he purchased a board without playing (a “Hilinski” fromĀ crokinoleworld.com) and hasn’t looked back. He has placed 1st in the 2023 Origins Double tournament (with Co-Founder Adam), 2nd at the 2023 Origins Singles tournament, and 1st in 2022 Doubles Tournament at Gaming Hoopla. He works as a System Administrator in his day job.
